PUBLIC NOTICE INVITING SEALED BIDS FO REPAIR AND RESURFACING OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA, INDIANA Notice is hereby given that the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Alexandria Madison County, Indiana will receive until the hour of 5:30 P.M. (E.S.T.) Monday June 6. 2016 bid proposals for repair and resurfacing of various streets in the City of Alexandria. Specifications will be available in the Clerk-Treasurer's Office located at 125 N. Wayne Street, Alexandria, Indiana beginning May 13th, 2016. At the above stated time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bid received after the designated time will be returned unopened. 1. All bids must be sealed, marked "Street Paving" and be received no later than 5:30 P.M. on the 6th day of June 2016 by the Clerk-Treasurer's Office located on the first floor of the City Building at 125 N. Wayne Street, Alexandria Indiana 46001, 2. All bids will be read publicly at the Board of Public Works and Safety Meeting at the hour of 5:30 P.M. on June 6, 2016. 3. All bidders must furnish with their bids a bond or certified Check equal to 10% of the total bid as evidence of good faith. That the successful bidder will execute within ten (10) consecutive calendar days from the acceptance of a bid proposal a contract as set out in the specifications. Failure of bidder to enter into a contract, execute same and furnish acceptable labor and materials and performance bond as hereinafter required, shall be cause for forfeiture of certified check or bid bond for liquidated damages to the City. Each bid proposal shall include a properly executed non-collusion affidavit as required by the statutes of the State of Indiana. 4. The performance bond and labor and material payment bond shall be for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount and shall accompany the executed contract. Bonds shall stay in effect for twelve (12) months after completion and acceptance of the project. 5. Bidder will not be permitted to withdraw his bid for sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening. 6. All bids shall be on the proper proposal form bound with the Contract document as prescribed by the Indiana State Board of Accounts. 7. Bidders are required to submit a written Affirmative Action Program prior to award of the bid. 8. The Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to reject any and all bids. 9. The Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to waive any formality.
