NOTICE TO BIDDERS Notice is hereby given that the Kokomo School Corporation will be receiving sealed bids at the Administrative Service Center, Superintendent's Office, located at 1500 South Washington, Kokomo, Indiana, until 1:00 p.m., local time, Thursday, September 6, 2018 for the KHS Site Improvements Including Athletics project. Each bid proposal shall include all labor, material, and services necessary to complete the project in strict accordance with the drawings and specifications as prepared and on file in the office of MSKTD & Associates, Inc., 1715 Magnavox Way, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. The Project includes the demolition of existing chain link fencing, new precast concrete bleachers and structure, new stadium bleacher seating, and new metal railings. There will be new locker rooms, public restrooms, batting cages, coaches' offices along with support spaces. This work will include mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The building will have a sprinkler system. The bids shall be a single prime, lump sum. The bid opening will be public. Bids shall be properly and completely executed in accordance with the Instructions and Supplementary Instructions to Bidders and shall be submitted on the most current version of Indiana Form 96 and the Supplementary Bid Form included in the specifications. A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the bid shall accompany each bid. A Prebid Meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the existing Locker Room Building at the project site located at 2501 South Berkley Road, Kokomo, Indiana. Indiana State Gross Retail and Use Tax is not to be included in the Bid Price, as Kokomo School Corporation is tax exempt. The provision shall apply both to transactions between Kokomo School Corporation and the Unified Contractor and any subcontractors, and to transactions between the material suppliers to the Unified Contractor and any subcontractors. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 110% percent of the contract price shall be required upon notification of the successful bidder prior to signing of the contract. Bids shall not be modified, withdrawn or canceled, without the Owner's written consent, for a period of ninety (90) calendar days commencing from the day bids are received. All bids shall be itemized, and all signatures must include the corporate position of the signer and shall be properly notarized. The successful bidder will be required to furnish insurance covering Workmen's Compensation, Public Liability and Property Damage, and any other which may be required, before the contract can be signed and issued. The Owner reserves the right to waive any formalities and informalities or to reject any and all bids. The Owner shall accept bids which, in his judgment, are in his own best interests, subject to the limitations of Indiana law. NOTICE OF REAL PROPERTY TAX SALE Howard County Indiana Beginning 10:00 AM, 10/10/2018 Commissioners' Room #338 At 220 North Main Street Local Time Howard County Pursuant to the laws of the Indiana General Assembly, notice is hereby given that the following described property is listed for sale for delinquent taxes and/or special assessments. The county auditor and county treasurer will apply on or after 09/21/2018 for a court judgment against the tracts or real property for an amount that is not less than the amount set out below and for an order to sell the tracts or real property at public auction to the highest bidder, subject to the right of redemption. Any defense to the application for judgment must be filed with the Howard County Circuit Court and served on the county auditor and treasurer before 09/21/2018. PUBLIC NOTICE On or about November 30, 2018, the Town of Spiceland, IN, intends to apply to the Indiana Office of Community Rural Affairs for a grant from the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Wastewater Improvements Program. This program is funded by Title 1 of the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used for a community development project that will include the following activities: Improvements to the sewage collection system for the South Henry Regional Waste District. The total amount of CDBG funds to be requested is $548,000. The amount of CDBG funds proposed to be used for activities that will benefit low and moderate income persons is $280,576. The applicant also proposes to expend an estimated $137,300 in non-CDBG funds on the project. These non-CDBG funds will be derived from the following sources: South Henry Regional Waste District cash operating fund. The Town of Spiceland will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 6:00 PM in town hall during the regularly scheduled town council meeting at 130 E. Main St., Spiceland, IN, to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federally funded CDBG project. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact Dawn Mogg, Clerk-Treasurer, at (765) 987-1211 not later than Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons. Information related to this project will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of September 4, 2018 at South Henry Regional Waste District office, 301 S. Williams St., Lewisville, IN 47352 between the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement. Written comments should be submitted to Deb Lilly, ARa, 748 Franklin St., Columbus, IN 47201, no later than Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in order to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been prepared by Town of Spiceland and is also available to the public. This project will result in no displacement of any persons or businesses.
