BEFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KOKOMO ORDINANCE NO. 6817 NOTICE OF HEARING ON PETITION FOR VACATION OF UNIMPROVED RIGHT-OF-WAYS Please take notice that pursuant to I.C. 36-7-3-12, the City of Kokomo has filed with the Common Council of the City of Kokomo, a petition for the vacation of right-of-ways described as follows: Street Address or Common Description East and adjacent to 304 through 428 S. Main St. Legal description of the Alley: Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot Number 1 in J.B. Carter's 1st Addition to the City of Kokomo, Center Township, Howard County, Indiana, as recorded in Recorder's Plat Book 2, page 60., thence South 725 feet, more or less, along the West line of a 16 foot alley, as shown in recorders plat book 2 page 187, to a point 124 feet south of the southeast corner of Lot Number 3 in B. B. Johnson's Addition to the City of Kokomo, Center Township, Howard County, Indiana, as shown in Recorder's Plat Book 2, page 201, thence East 16 feet to the southwest corner of an 0.18 acre parcel described in Instrument #1334002487 in the office of the Recorder of said Howard County; thence north 713 along the East line of said 16 foot alley right-of-way to the northwest corner of Lot 11 in said J.B. Carter's 1st Addition; thence Northwesterly 16 feet, More or less, to the Northeast corner of Lot Number 1 in said J.B. Carter's 1st Addition and the point of beginning. EXCEPT: The previously vacated alley lying between Lots 4, 5, 8 and 9 in said J.B. Carter's 1st Addition, being 16 feet in width East and West and 54 feet in length North and South, as recorded in Recorder's Plat Book 3, page 61. ALSO; Beginning at a point 2 feet South of the Northwest corner of Lot Number 8 in said J.B. Carter's 1st Addition; thence South 17 feet; thence North 45 degrees East 4.2 feet; thence East 128 feet to the West line of Union Street; thence North on the West line of Union Street, 14 feet; thence West 131 feet to the point of beginning. ALSO; A 4 foot strip along the south side of lots 6 & 7 in said J.B. Carter's 1st Addition. The Common Council of the City of Kokomo has set a hearing on this petition for the 09th day of May 2016, at 6:00 pm in the Ralph Neal Council Chambers, City Hall, 100 South Union Street, Kokomo, Indiana. At this time, the Council will hear any person who is interested or affected by this proposed petition or anyone submitting a remonstrance against said petition.
