The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), Office of Transit is providing applications for the Section 5311(f) Intercity Transportation Assistance Program through the INDOT website at http://www.in.gov/indot/2436.htm (5311 Intercity Application Package). ELIGIBILITY: The Section 5311(f) program defines intercity bus service as regularly scheduled bus service for the general public, which operates with limited stops in rural communities. The service operates over fixed routes connecting two or more urban areas, not in close proximity, that has the capacity for transporting baggage carried by passengers, and that makes meaningful connections with scheduled intercity bus service to more distant points. FUNDING: Each year the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) allocates a portion (15%) of the total Section 5311 rural transit funds specifically for intercity projects. TIME FRAME: Applications must be received by June 20, 2016.
