NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING THE PROPOSED CONTRACT BETWEEN WA-NEE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS EMPLOYING SCOT CRONER AS SUPERINTENDENT On December 9, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the Wa-Nee Community Schools Administration Building located at 1300 North Main Street, Nappanee, Indiana, the Board of School Trustees will meet to discuss and hear from the public objections to and support for the proposed contract, which will be effective from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020. Proposed Contract Details 2017-'18 Annual Base Salary $123,000 Annual Teacher Retirement Fund Contribution @ $3,690 Annual Group Health Insurance Premium Contribution* $15,435 Health Savings Account Contribution # $1,500 Annual Group Dental Insurance Premium (pd. by supt.) $0 Annual Long Term Disability Premium Contribution*# $260 Annual Term Life Premium Contribution ($180,000 Death Benefit)* $259 Annual 403(b) Plan Contribution + $variable Annual Technology Allowance $600 Total of Proposed Contract Details $144,744 * Indicates that Wa-Nee Community Schools contribution may be adjusted if the insurance carrier increases the premiums for same level of coverage. # Indicates that Wa-Nee Community Schools contribution on behalf of the superintendent is the same amount that is contributed on behalf of teachers. @ Indicates that Wa-Nee Community Schools contribution on behalf of the superintendent is the same percentage of salary that is contributed on behalf of teachers. + Indicates that Wa-Nee Community Schools contribution on behalf of the Superintendent shall match dollar for dollar the amount the Superintendent contributed shall not exceed 3% of his salary, and shall vest in the Superintendent on a 10 year, straight-line vesting schedule. Agreement Length: Indiana statute requires the superintendent contract to be for a term of at least 36 months. The proposed contract can be canceled by the Board of School Trustees for the reasons set out in Indiana statute. The superintendent and Wa-Nee Community Schools can by mutual agreement cancel the proposed contract at any time. Work days: The superintendent receives 20 vacation days of which he may carry over 5 unused days to the following year, but may not possess more than 25 days. At the time of his retirement, the superintendent shall receive $35.00 for each accumulated, unused sick day that he possesses with a maximum number of days being the same as established in Wa-Nee Community Schools existing collective bargaining agreement. Increases: The Board of School Trustees annually reviews the superintendents performance, salary and benefits and may approve changes in base salary, contributions, or allowances at that time.
