NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED RATES AND CHARGES Property owners, ratepayers and other interested parties in, served by or to be served by the City of Greensburg are hereby notified that Ordinance No. 2016-30 establishing rates and charges for services to be rendered by the Sewage Works, was introduced at a meeting of the Common Council held on November 7, 2016. At a meeting of the Common Council to be held at 7:00 p.m. (Greensburg time), on December 5, 2016, in the Greensburg City Hall, there will be a public hearing on the matter of the rates and charges, and consideration of adoption of said Ordinance No. 2016-30 which provides in part as follows: (a) The sewage rates and charges shall be based on the quantity of water used on or in the property or premises subject to such rates and charges as the same may be measured by the water meter there in use, plus a base charge based on the size of water meter installed, except as herein otherwise provided. For the purpose of billing and collecting the charges for sewage service, the water meters shall be read monthly and the users shall be billed each month (or period equaling a month). The water usage schedule on which the amount of said rates and charges shall be determined is as follows: All Class I Users (1) Treatment rate per 100 cubic feet of usage per month: Effective Effective 1/1/2017 1/1/2018 $3.83 $4.21 Plus: (2) Base rate per month: Per Month Effective Effective Meter Size 1/1/2017 1/1/2018 5/8 - ^ $15.55 $17.15 1 35.75 39.35 1^ - 1^ 80.20 88.25 2 136.50 150.15 3 311.10 342.25 4 553.00 608.30 6 1,238.35 1,362.20 8 2,205.70 2,426.30 10 3,935.30 4,328.85 a. For users of the Sewage Works that are unmetered water users, or accurate meter readings are not available, the monthly charge shall be determined by equivalent single-family dwelling units, except as herein provided. Sewage service bills shall be rendered once each month (or period equaling a month). The schedule on which said rates and charges will be determined is as follows: Monthly Rate Effective Effective 1/1/2017 1/1/2018 Residential: Single-Family Dwelling Unit $37.65 $41.45 Surcharge based upon suspended solids Rate per pound in excess of 200 milligrams per liter of fluid $0.27 $0.30 Surcharge based upon CBOD Rate per pound in excess of 200 milligrams per liter of fluid $0.22 $0.24 Surcharge based upon Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN) Rate per pound in excess of 20 milligrams per liter of fluid $0.54 $0.59 Cost of Monitoring Industrial Wastes Per sampling event plus the actual cost for collecting and analyzing the sample(s) $83.25 $91.60 Waste Hauler Fee Per 1,000 gallons of septic tank waste $38.85 $42.75 At such hearing and prior to final adoption of said Ordinance, all interested parties may appear and be heard.
