ORDINANCE NO. 14-2016 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC SCHEDULES SET FORTH IN CHAPTER 78 OF THE BATESVILLE CODE WHEREAS, the City has recently conducted a traffic study in order to update the Traffic Schedules as set forth in Chapter 78 of the Batesville Code; and WHEREAS, the city council conducted a public hearing on August 8, 2016, where many citizens of the city discussed the proposed changes and made recommendations to council; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BATESVILLE: Section 1. That the speed limit on that portion of Lammers Pike that lies east of the St. Andrew's Health Campus, 1400 Lammers Pike, Batesville, shall be forty (40) miles per hour. Section 2. That stop signs shall be erected at the following places in the city: A. On both sides of West George Street at the intersection with Walnut Street. B. At the intersection of Morton Way, Benz Court and Hoosier Heights Drive in order to make said intersection a three (3) way stop. C. On both sides of South Street at the intersection with Eastern Avenue in order to make said intersection a four (4) way stop. Section 3. That stop signs shall be removed at the following places in the city: A. The stop signs on Arlington Drive at the intersection with Woodfield Drive. B. On both sides of Park Avenue at the intersection with Catherine Street. C. On both sides of East Pearl Street at the intersection with Depot Street. D. On both sides of Central Avenue at the intersection with Eastern Avenue. Whole number of Council being five. Those sections above having three (3) or more Aye votes were adopted by the Common Council of the City of Batesville, this 10th day of October, 2016. Whereupon, the Mayor declared said Ordinance adopted. EFFECTIVE DATE This ordinance shall be of full force and effect thirty days after the publication of this ordinance. Michael A.
