PUBLIC NOTICE The City of Anderson Community Development Department is soliciting applications from interested citizens and organizations beginning Wednesday, September 28, 2016, for the program year 2017. The City of Anderson anticipates an annual allocation of Community Development Block Grant Funds, for PY 2017, in the amount of $828,637 of which, up to $82,864 can be awarded for Public Service Activities. Projects carried out in whole, or in part with Community Development Block Grant Funds and HOME Investment Partnership Funds must meet HUD National Objectives; Provide aid to low, and moderate income persons/areas, Aid in the reduction of slum and blight or, the City certifies the activities to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as urgent needs that pose an immediate threat to the health and welfare of the community, and no other financial resources are available to meet such needs. The 2017 PY Targeted Public Service Proposal Areas are as follows: Economic Development: Job Skills Training and Job Placement Services; Housing: Housing Counseling, Homeless Prevention, Services for in-tact families experiencing homelessness and Services for persons experiencing homelessness; and Youth Services: Education and Recreation. Applications for PY 2017 are available online at www.cityofanderson.com beginning September 28, 2016. Applications are due no later than Friday, October 28, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. E.S.T. in the Board of Public Works, 5th Fl. City Hall, 120 E. 8th St., Anderson, IN in a sealed envelope. Late proposals or electronic submissions will not be accepted. All applicants must attend or send a representative to a mandatory informational meeting, scheduled October 7, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1st Floor, City Hall. The City of Anderson, by and through its Community Development Department, reserves the right to reject any proposal that does not meet the primary objectives of the Community Development Block Grant Program or exceeds the amount of funds available.
