AREA FIVE AGENCY ON AGING AND COMMUNITY SERVICES IS REQUESTING BID PROPOSALS FROM CONTRACTORS TO PERFORM WEATHERIZATION SERVICES IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES: CASS, HOWARD, MIAMI, WABASH, AND TIPTON COUNTIES. Bid packets will be available at an informational meeting held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, September 13th, 2016, at the Area Five Agency main office, located at 1801 Smith Street in Logansport. Area Five's Weatherization Assistance Program operates in five counties and is funded through Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA). Area Five is soliciting open bids from contractors to perform mechanical and shell weatherization services. Mechanical measures typically consist of furnace repair or replacement, water heater repair or replacement, and ASHRAE fan installation. Shell measures performed generally include major and minor air sealing, attic and wall insulation, and installing 2 part foam closed cell insulation. Anyone wishing to be considered for mechanical and/or shell contract work must attend the September 13th meeting and complete a bid packet.
