PUBLIC NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO CONDUCT SURFACE COAL MINING OPERATIONS Pursuant to regulatory requirements found at 312 IAC 25-4-109, Solar Sources, Inc. (P.O. Box 7, Petersburg, Indiana 47567), hereby provides public notice of its intent to conduct surface coal mining activities on IDNR Permit S-355-2. The application seeks a permit to mine coal on approximately 1180.3 acres. The mine is located in Daviess County approximately 3 miles northwest of Montgomery, IN in an area more specifically described as follows: Township 3 North, Range 6 West Section 5- Pt of the S ^ of SE ^ Section 8- Pt of SE ^ of NW ^, Pt of the W ^ of NE ^, E ^ of NE ^ Section 9- W ^ of SE ^, Pt of E ^ of SE ^ Section 16- W ^ of NE ^, NW ^ of SE ^ Section 20- NE 1/4, NW ^ & NE ^ of SE ^, N ^ of SW ^ & SE ^ of SE ^ Section 21- W ^ of NW ^, Pt of NE ^ & SE ^ of NW ^, NW ^ of SW ^, Pt of NE ^ & SW ^ OF SW 1/4 The permit area is shown on the Montgomery, Indiana USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle map. Solar Sources Inc. intends affect areas within 100 feet of the right-of-way of I-69 and County Roads 350E, 350N, 450E, and 200N. A copy of the complete application is on file and available for public review at the Washington Carnegie Public Library, 300 West Main St., Washington, IN 47501 and at the Division of Reclamation Office, located at 14619 W SR 48, Jasonville, IN 47438. Persons residing within one (1) mile of the above-described area may request a pre-blast survey of their residence by writing to the Indiana Division of Reclamation or Solar Sources, Inc. Comments, objections or requests for informal conferences on the application may be submitted under 312 IAC 25-4-112 to the Division of Reclamation, 14619 W. SR 48, Jasonville, IN 47438 within thirty (30) days of this publication. Pursuant to 326 IAC 2-9-10; Solar Sources, Inc. plans to apply for a Source Specific Operating Agreement from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Office of Air Management concerning construction and operation of this mine.
