ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS This Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the Elkhart County Drainage Board for the SIMONTON LAKE OUTLET STRUCTURE on LILY CREEK PROJECT #16-010 until 9:30 AM, Tuesday July 12, 2016, in Room A of the County Public Services Building, 4230 Elkhart Road, Goshen, Indiana (U.S. 33 @ C.R. 26). The proposals will be opened that day and notice be sent to all bidders of the action taken. The plans, specifications, bidding documents, Instructions to Bidders and General Conditions and Supplementary Conditions may be obtained at our Office. The project is to be completed by December 31, 2016. The awarded contractor will sign an agreement to a $100.00 per day charge for liquidated damages beyond the specified completion date. The estimated cost of the project is less than $142,000.00. The project is to install a Control Structure on Lily Creek located in Section 16 of Osolo Township approximately 325 LF south of Simonton Lake. The project consists of 446 SF of Steel Sheet Piling, 134 SY of revetment RipRap on No. 8 aggregate on GeoGrid, 350 LF of channel widening, 300 LF of Vegetated Coir Roll, and 767 LF of silt fence. Proposals may be delivered to the Drainage Board at the Public Services Building prior to the specified time, or may be mailed to arrive to the Office at the County Surveyor before that time. Proposals shall be properly and completely executed on proposal forms furnished by the County in accordance with Revised Indiana Form 96 and shall be accompanied by the Contractors Financial Statement form taken from Form 96A. Proposals shall include a copy of the Contractors Insurance Certificate with coverage in accordance with item 5.3 of the General Conditions and a list of previous projects of this nature with references shall be included with the bid. Proposals shall be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bank Draft payable to the Elkhart County Drainage Board, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and a surety company in an amount equal to 5% of the Bid as a guarantee that the bidder, if the Bid is accepted, will execute and file the proposed Contract and Bonds within ten days after award of the Contract. The Certified Check or Bank Draft will be returned to the bidders immediately after the signing of the Contract by the Drainage Board. A Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the total Contract price will be required of the successful bidder. The Elkhart County Drainage Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in bidding, and to award a contract in the best interests of the Board, Elkhart County, and the project.
