Prince 20607-27 STATE OF INDIANA SS: COUNTY OF HOWARD HOWARD CIRCUIT COURT CAUSE NO.: 34C01-1604-GU-00011 34C01-1604-GU-00012 IN RE THE GUARDIANSHIPS OF: ALEXCIA N. PRINCE and MASON E. PRINCE, Minors ANGELA KIRBY, and SHANE DAUGHERTY, Petitioners NOTICE BY PUBLICATION TO: Natural Father of Alexcia N. Prince, Minor Natural Father of Mason E. Prince, Minor On July 8, 2016 at 9:00 a.m., the Howard County Circuit Court, Howard County Courthouse, 104 North Buckeye Street, Room 310, Kokomo, Indiana 46901, will hold a hearing to determine whether co-guardians should be appointed or a protective order should be issued for Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince. A copy of the petitions requesting the appointments of co-guardians or for the issuance of a protective order is attached to this notice. The purpose of this proceeding is to protect Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince. At the hearing the court will determine whether Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince are incapacitated persons or minors under Indiana law. This proceeding may substantially affect the rights of Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince. If the court finds that Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince are incapacitated persons or minors, the court at the hearing shall also consider whether Angela Kirby and Shane Daugherty should be appointed as co-guardians of Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince. The court may, in its discretion, appoint some other qualified person as guardian. The court may also, in its discretion, limit the powers and duties of the co-guardians to allow Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince to retain control over certain property and activities. The court may also determine whether a protective order should be entered on behalf of Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince. Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince may attend the hearing and be represented by an attorney. The petition may be heard and determined in the absence of Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince if the court determines that the presence of Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince are not required. If Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince attend the hearing, oppose the petition, and are not represented by an attorney, the court may appoint an attorney to represent Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince at the hearing. The court may, where required, appoint a guardian ad litem to represent Alexcia N. Prince and Mason E. Prince at the hearing.
